So, you want to be a racing driver? Well, there is no better place to start than Formula VEE, and no better place to move to if you have raced in other classes.

Formula VEE is a ‘clubman’ class, low cost, fast, competitive and lots of fun with a level of off track friendliness and co-operation that will leave you waiting with baited breath for the next race day! A former VEE racer and well know motor sport commentator, Declan Quigley, once said that there is more overtaking in a single VEE race than there is in an entire season of Formula 1 – and he was right!

There are three championships in Formula VEE: The National, this year called the FDS Worldwide Express Formula VEE 2009 National Championship. The Formula VEE B Championship (2009 Sponsor Needed) which is for ‘regulars’ or those making their way up the field, and The SuperValu & Centra Formula VEE Novice Championship for beginners. See the individual championship pages for more information on these championships.

Once you have registered as a member of the Formula VEE Association you are entitled to score points in your appropriate championship. If you are a novice you will be assigned a ‘mentor’ driver from the sharp end of the grid who will help you hone your driving and racing skills.

Note: Membership of the Formula VEE Association is from the 1st January to the 31st December of the year in question.

Get Started!

There are two things you need to do: 1. Get a car and all the relevant bits and 2: Join the Formula VEE Association. Click on the links to download a membership application form, and also download the ‘Starter Pack’ which will give you a substantial amount of information on getting started in Formula VEE.
