The Windstorm Formula VEE Novice Championship

Congratulations to Ian Campbell, the Windstorm Formula VEE Novice champion for 2011.

Comiserations to Kevin Grogan, it was a battle of skill and a bit of luck all year long! Lady luck wasn't particularly kind to our novices in the final weekend's racing, but hopefully when they come back next year all will be changed!

The Windstorm Formula VEE Novice Championship is run by the Formula VEE Association and is open to registered members of the Formula VEE association who are novice drivers. A novice driver is someone who has never competed in single seater (or saloon) racing before. Some of our novices may have competed in karts when they were younger! If you have previously done one or two races you can apply to see if you qualify as a novice. Like the other championships, this one is closely fought from start to finish, in fact, some of our novices will regularly put some of the more experienced drivers to shame – at least in terms of track speed anyway!!!
Points are awarded to the top nineteen class finishers. Previous winners include Brian Leader, Alan Whitty and Daniel Polley and Owen Purcell. Last years winner was Damien Murphy.
